Altitude Yoga Retreat

We were so pleased to welcome Yoga Teacher, Mr. Vijay Vaidya, and his group to his first ever Yoga Retreat in Nepal! This was a 3 day, 2 night retreat in Kurintar, and one of the many yoga trips we have been a part of at Summit River Lodge.

All skill levels were welcomed in this class, and most of the sessions were conducted outdoors.

The weather was fantastic at this time and our guests were able to thoroughly enjoy the indian summer heat.  The weather was perfect for a hike to Pangdhurey Khola, which is a waterfall an hours hike away from the lodge.

Post COVID-19

Even during the pandemic times , with the sincere support of our staff, we were able to keep working on maintaining  as well as upgrading  our property.

This way we were able start off full on as soon the lockdown protocols were in place. You may have noticed we were one of the first lodges to be fully operational in Nepal post COVID-19. Had we not been consistent with our work the property would have been taken over by nature and it would have been a difficult journey back.  We have been able to give back to our staff by putting everybody back on full time time and 100% salary plus benefits since November of 2021.

Our team were all double vaccinated in 2021 and we’ve been taking so many permanent steps in increasing our hygiene standards at the lodge. From investing in iClean Technologies, to educating our team on best practices for disinfection, we have been able to take a most positive stance the last two years, and learn as much as we can, over lamenting over what was lost.

September Weather

Our most beautiful time of the year is always September. We’re gifted with the bluest of skies, and the balmiest days.

It’s a surprise to many that this is so, given that we are known for being a summer destination, but the humidity can be a bit overwhelming for those used to drier climates.

These photos were taken from the Kitchen and Dining Room Area, and as you can see, the whole lodge is surrounded by the giant rolling hills that Gorkha is famous for.

Nepali New Years

Nepali New Year, known as Baishak, marks the start of a fresh calendar year in Nepal. It’s a time of renewal, celebration, and togetherness, with families and communities coming together to enjoy traditional rituals, festive meals, and moments of reflection.

At Summit River Lodge, we celebrate Baishak with riverside festivities, relaxed brunches, and special packages to welcome the year ahead in comfort and style.

If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, and a quiet place to spend with family, call us at 9801151166 to make your reservation.

Valentine’s Day

With Valentine’s Day coming up, make sure to book your rooms in advance. We will be closed between the 5th February to the 10th February, but will be open from 11th February onwards.

Summit River Lodge is a very romantic getaway spot because of its privacy and the abundant nature within and around the lodge, which inspires guests to truly relax and connect with their loved ones.
